The Connacht Gold brand is nationwide as a butter but still limited to the North West as a milk. Recently however they have been pushing into Galway and so have stepped up their marketing activities there to increase awareness. The most fun initiative they took in 2010 was the organisation and sponsorship of the inaugural Battle of the Baristas. This was a day long event which invited the cream of Galway’s famous coffee society to compete for the title of Galway’s best barista. The family oriented day featured Connacht Gold branded marquees, balloons, flags and anthropomorphic litre cartons of milk walking the streets of Galway. Macnas would have approved.
