Bespoke promotional materials make for a lasting impression
Point of sale and promotional goods have, perhaps unjustly, gained a reputation as disposable, throwaway items. Indeed we’ve all at one time or another received promotional bags, pens and keyrings only to discard them at the first opportunity.
There are many cases in which ready-made, customisable items found in promotional catalogues do fit the bill. Increasingly however, we find that a more tailored approach makes for a better and more lasting impression. It was with that in mind that we set about putting together a suite of items for John Stone Beef.
John Stone Beef is known for pairing of traditional craft, state of the art technology and sustainable production techniques. Taking this as our inspiration, we set about finding craftspeople around Ireland who share this approach.
Ireland is overflowing with fantastic producers of every kind and we were delighted to get to know some of them on this project. Among those we worked with were woodworkers in County Waterford who source, dry and season their own timber from felled trees in the locality. We also found a family run business in Dublin’s north inner city that produces bespoke workwear to order. Even our hand embossed company seal was the first of its kind to be produced in Ireland by a company in Phibsboro.
One of the first items we had produced by an industrial design duo in Dublin was our timber block display stand. Made from solid Irish beech, this stand was designed to echo profile of a traditional butcher’s knife block. Each was then individually laser etched and we were there to record the process:
These stands are now being used everywhere John Stone Beef is to be found, from the counters of gourmet food halls to the tables of some truly memorable restaurants around the world and the feedback has been very positive:
